The decal printing method is a process of printing patterns into paintings on ceramics, and is the most widely used decorative technique in modern ceramics. It is divided into overglaze decals and underglaze decals. Today we will introduce the characteristics of the production of decal ceramic tableware.
1) Ceramic decals are mainly used for the decoration of ceramic ware patterns and colors, replacing the hand-painting and color spraying techniques used in the past.
2) The resolution of ceramic decals can reach 40-50 lines/CM.
3) After the silk screen ink pattern on the ceramic decal is attached to the ceramic ware, it needs to be fired at 700-800℃ or 1100-1350℃ to adhere firmly. The color depends on the type of the coloring agent in the ceramic.
4) Ceramic decal paper is the carrier of ceramic ink. It is divided into ceramic on-glaze decal and ceramic underglaze decal. The types of decals differ depending on the composition.
5) Due to the strong hiding power and poor transparency of ceramic ink, the principle of three primary colors cannot be used for printing. The halftone printing method adopts non-overprinting side-by-side special color ink halftone printing.
6) The ink printed on on-glaze decals is high temperature solvent ink; the ink printed on underglaze decals is high temperature water-based ink.
